Collection & Review: Buxom Lip Glosses

During Sephora's VIB Sale I picked up a gift set from Buxom that included 6 deluxe sized lip glosses: 3 of the Lip Polish & 3 of the Lip Cream formulas (those w/ the gold tops). I already knew I liked Buxom lip gloss, as I have 1 of each formula and was curious to try out a few other colors. Buxom Cream formulas are my favorite, they aren't sticky, they have that warming tingle to them, and the smell delicious. I'm not a fan of glittery lip glosses so I tend to shy away from the Lip Polish formula since they range from having small micro-shimmers to chunkier glitter, but I do like all of the ones that came in this set. Yes, they are pricier than a drugstore gloss but they last on the lips and have a nice finish. I much prefer them to MAC or Stila glosses. 


Full-on Lip Polish
White Russian  (nude pink) - similar to NARS' Turkish Delight  
Berry Blast  (vivid fushia) - works wonderfully on its own but also looks good layered over orchid and berry lipsticks
Creamsicle  (peach sorbet) - I was a little scared of this color because it looked so orange in the tube, but it gives a nice coral sheen atop any lipstick
Mudslide (petal pink) - not a light pink like you would think when you hear "petal", more of a light rosey pink; wears well on its own

Full-on Lip Gloss
Trixie  (24 karat pink) - a toned down version of NARS' Orgasm 
Chloe  (dollface pink) - similar enough to Trixie that you definitely don't need both in your collection
Sophia  (sweetheart pink) - more of a lilac-pink; the least shimmery of the glosses in this set
Dolly (shimmering sultry mauve) - pairs really nicely over my Fall Lipsticks for a plumper look
Nicole (shimmering strawberry) - came as a Sephora sample, cute bright shade for a summer day

Full Bodied Lip Gloss
Sweet Thing (hot pink) - least favorite of the bunch; will probably give to one of my nieces because the color is so hot pink it just comes off childish to me
